ISCA STUDENTS GET ACCESS TO WORLD CLASS HIGH-PERFORMANCE COACH

Ella Morgan

Internationally recognised high-performance coach Brad Harrington was the special guest presenter at this year’s Level 1 ASCA course, recently provided to our ISCA students at the University of Sydney.

Brad has over 20 years of experience in coaching and strength & conditioning and has worked domestically with the Wallabies and the NSW Waratahs, and internationally with Argentina, Japan, Wales, Ireland & the United Kingdom rugby league competition.

17 ISCA students participated in the program, which aims to provide a fundamental level of knowledge in strength & conditioning coaching.

The 2-day theory component of the program was held at ICMS City campus, and then at Sydney University the following day to assess the student’s practical capabilities.

Upon graduation, many of our students seek employment as accredited sports coaches, certified fitness trainers, physical education teachers or instructors, further tertiary study in sports science or are current athletes seeking a career post-sport.

Brad gave the students some fascinating insights into his high-performance career, including preparations for three Rugby World Cup cycles, and the design and implementation of elite athlete performance programs.

On behalf of ISCA, we thank Brad for his time and efforts, and also sincerely thank the Australian Strength & Conditioning Association (ASCA) for allowing our ISCA students to undertake this invaluable program.

We hope to see our students working in the professional sports industry very soon!
