Conveniently situated next to major train and bus routes, our City Campus in the Sydney CBD is easy to access via public transport. It’s a short walk from Central Station and the light rail (tram) stop at Capitol Square. This area is one of the liveliest precincts in the Sydney CBD, with World Square Shopping Centre also nearby.

For students who nominate to attend the City Campus, one high performance subject per trimester is delivered within Sydney Uni’s Sport and Fitness training facilities. Students can access these elite training facilities throughout the duration of their course, which are home to more than 35 sports clubs.

You’ll have access to:

  • Multi-function stadium designed for basketball and netball
  • New cardio machines and pin-loaded resistance equipment
  • Indoor cricket centre
  • 50-metre heated indoor swimming pool
  • Six synthetic grass tennis courts

  • The TAG Family Foundation Grandstand, which is a multi-sport facility located on the University of Sydney’s Oval number two. The site boasts an impressive two-level, high-performance strength and conditioning gym, named after its benefactor and rugby club stalwart, David Mortimer, as well as four spacious change rooms.
  • The Sydney Uni Sports and Aquatic Centre (SUSAC), which houses a wide range of fitness services, indoor swimming pool, state-of-the-art cardio and resistance equipment.

By train: Redfern is the closest train station. It is a 10-minute walk to the main campus, and a fairly steady flow of students walks the route via Abercrombie Street at all times of day and evening. A free shuttle bus runs between Fisher Library and Redfern Station in the evening during semester.

Central station is a 15-minute walk along City Road and George Street; however, buses to and from Central are frequent and easy to catch from Parramatta Road or City Road.

By bus: If you are arriving by bus, there are convenient stops on Parramatta Road and City Road at our main entrances. Use the campus map to locate the closest bus stop to your destination.

Getting to the City Campus

By train: From Central Station exit towards Eddy Avenue to the north. Cross over Eddy Avenue and walk through Belmont Park. As you exit the park, you will see the historic brick building diagonally across the road on the intersection of Hay Street and Pitt Street.

By light rail: Light Rail stops next to the Capitol Theatre in Capitol Square.

By bus: The nearest stops are: Pitt St near Campbell St, Hay St near Pitt St and Pitt St near Eddy Avenue

Parking: We suggest parking at Market City Car Park or Goulburn Street Parking Station
